Kenneth Wayne Quintana, 81, passed from this life on June 18, 2016. He was born in Dulce, New Mexico, on December 26, 1934, to Juan P. Quintana and Manuelita Sisneros. Kenneth was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted at the young age of 16, (he could not enlist without his parent's consent). He went to MCRD (Marine Corp Recruit Dept) for his boot camp in San Diego, CA. This is where he earned the title, "United States Marine"; which his grandson, Quentin Larose, also earned allowing them to form a special bond. He served in the Korean and Vietnam War; he was with the 7th Marines and his MOS was 0311. He served under Chesty Puller. After his time in the service he was honorably discharged.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Juan P. Quintana and Manuelita Sisnerso-Quintana, and brother, Mike Quintana. He is survived by his wife Marsha Quintana, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters; Janine Quintana-Shaggy, Perrine Quintana and D-Anna Quintanilla; sons, Argonne Quintana, Ken Quintana, Angel Quintana White-Owl, Ben Quintana, Roger Vicenti and Jubal Quintana; and many grandchildren.

Services for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Jicarilla Apache Reformed Church in Dulce, New Mexico, with Pastor Brad Kautz officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Dulce Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Quentin Larose, Ken Quintana, Angel Quintana White-Owl, Ben Quintana, Isaac Vicenti, Byron Quintana, Gene Gonzales and Chad Eaton. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Ridge Inn for making Kenneth's time there bearable and becoming like an extended family; knowing the staff went above and beyond to care for our father made leaving him at night comforting. They would also like to thank LPN Lisa Crider-Williams, who took extra care of our father until the end, you are an amazing lady and God sent and we appreciate everything you did, we love you. And everyone who helped care for our father, thank you; and also Tara for making our father smile; and Dr. Robert Burns for giving our father the best medical care he could offer.

Kenneth's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St, Farmington, (505) 325-8688.
