1951-2015

Keith (Skeeter) Lowell Elkins, Jr. 64,of Farmington passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Keith was born October 03, 1951 in Gallup, NM the son of Keith Lowell Elkins, Sr, and Peggy A. Wilcoxson.

Skeeter was a pick-up rodeo man. Horses were his passion. He drove a cattle truck, was a ranch hand, and race horse trainer. Skeeter was employed as a butcher in his early years, later worked for the Gas Company of New Mexico as a pumper/switcher. He loved to ride and rope(team roper). Above all he loved his family and friends dearly. "Well ol' cowboy, we'll see you in the fall if not at all". Yet, now he's gone except in minds, riding the screens of gold again--His likes are rare this day and age: A cowboy, gentleman and friend.

Skeeter was preceded in death by his father, Keith Lowell Elkins, Sr.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Cynthia Ann Elkins; son Chas Elkins; daughter Stacey(Richard) Armistead, his mother Peggy Ann Wilcoxson Elkins; brother Levi (Coleen) Davis; sister Debbie (Joe) Truby; granddaughers: Jasmine Elkins, DJ Elkins, great-grandchildren; Van and Lynkyn Dixon; and many dear friends.

Cremation will take place and Memorial Services for Skeeter will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 02, 2015 at Summit Church, 1200 E. 30th Street with Pastor Dan Morrison officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Armistead, Delbert Holley, Chas Elkins, Van Dixon, DJ Elkins and Jasmine Elkins. Keith (Skeeter) Elkins care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel 404 West Arrington, Farmington, NM 505-327-5142
