Kayo I. Saiz
Aug. 7, 1934 - April 24, 2017
With great sadness and broken hearts, my sister and I would like to let all our family and friends know about our great loss. Our dad, best friend, grandpa and great grandpa, Kayo Isaac Saiz, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017. On the day of his passing, one single yellow rose appeared in our dad's backyard. Yellow roses were our mother's favorite rose. We believe she came to get dad.
He was so proud of his family and friends. He would do about anything for them. A true friend he was.
Our dad taught us many things; to love, laugh and to be strong, which is very difficult right now. He also taught himself to play the guitar and drums. At 82, he still jammed with his great-grandchildren, David and Cody Crezee. Dad sang songs to Scarlett to make her laugh, while Caroline made her traditional "Great Grandma" tortillas for her great grandpa. His love of music brought the family together. His other passion, gardening, was one he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. There was always plenty of vegetables to go around, especially tomatoes.
Kayo was one of seventeen children, the youngest and a little spoiled, but just the same, a great man. He married our mom, Caroline Lee Shay Saiz (10/21/34 ~ 06/02/08), and like all married couples they shared good and difficult times together, loving each other throughout each and every day. They had three children; Rita Saiz Brazfield (Albert), Anna P. Saiz Gwinn (07/06/52 ~ 10/07/09), and Yvette D. Saiz Slayton (Lang); six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Due to our beloved dad's wishes, there will be no service or "riga-moe-roe."
Kayo's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at serenityandcompany.com.
