Julia (Julie) C. Molina, 96, of Farmington, passed from this life Saturday Jan. 13, 2018. She was born on Jan. 24, 1921, in Morencim Ariz. to Bernard and Maria (Nava) Cabral.

Julia and her late husband Hank, have been longtime residents of Farmington and were married 75 years until his death in 2014. They met on a baseball field in in 1939 and after whirlwind courtship the two were married on May 25, 1940. The Molina's had three children, Hank Jr., Tommy and Mary Ann. They made their home in Clifton, Seattle and Phoenix before Hank Sr. was transferred with Arizona Public Service to Farmington in 1964.

Julia was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club and The Elks Club. For many years, she hosted bingo games and helped cook in the kitchen for the Knights of Columbus. Julia and Hank often hosted and chaperoned dances and banquets and were always positive role models for young people. She was a champion and league bowler for many years. After her youngest daughter married, she went to work for Farmington Floral back in 1971, where she retired in 1982. She was a gifted florist and had a great reputation in the community for her beautiful work.

Julia was a child of God and was an active member of Sacred Heart Church for many years. In Julia's younger years, she and Hank loved to travel (mostly to Las Vegas). She enjoyed cooking for her family and making flower arrangements for all to enjoy. She enjoyed time with her family, sharing stories about the old days, and she loved to play poker and card games with her grandchildren. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Julia was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Hank Molina; middle son, Tommy Michael Molina; and her brothers, Nino, Martin, Jimmy, Louie and Manny Cabral. She is survived by her eldest son, Henry S. Molina; and her daughter, Mary Ann Molina-Quevedo. She has six grandkids, Mike Molina (Karen), Rick Quevedo Jr. (Jennifer) Tony Molina (Sarah), Melissa Quevedo-Garcia, Priscilla Quevedo (Isaac) and Steven Molina. In addition, she has sixteen great-grandchildren, Britany, Raquel, Codi (Ashley), Haley, Mitch, Roberto, Mariana, Juliana, Roman, Samuel, Mikey Jr., Gabriella, Sierra Rose, Joseph, Max and Alyna Rhea; three great-great-grandchildren, Ellie, Donovan and LaVeya. She is also survived by her sisters, Eulalia (Jesus), Rodriguez, Carmen Cabral and Ruth Sullivan all of California; her youngest sister, Gloria Cabral Cirrielo from Clifton, Ariz. as well as various nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her in-home care givers who became a part of our family over the last few years. Stephanie Gruber, Virginia McCabe, Alberta Evans and Gisele Nelson- you all are a blessing and she loved each of you.

A Rosary will be recited for Julia at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Sacred Heart Church, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington. A celebration of her life and funeral service will immediately follow the Rosary at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Tim officiating. Graveside services will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
