Judith "Judy" Ann Martindale, 76 of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 after a short illness. She was born on October 25, 1939 to Roy and Nancy Belle McClasin in Lindsey, OK.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was one of three sisters growing up in Oklahoma where she attended college and met and married her love Jess in May 1957. This union created two children, Steve and Kelly and was followed by three grandchildren, Jasmine, Cameron, and Jason, and four great grandchildren Roxy, Levi, Ruby and Lucas.
Judy was active in Masonic organizations and was a member of San Juan Nile Club and Social Order of the Beauceant. Judy worked for the City of Farmington for over 30 years as a well-loved ceramics teacher. She was known for the beautiful eyes she painted. Judy's students could be overheard saying, "Judy help me do eyes!" Judy enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos where she was considered "very lucky".
Her big love was the ponies. Judy and her husband, Jess, fulfilled her dream of owning and racing their own horses and traveled to watch them run at tracks around the state. Judy was an awesome woman, a loving mom, grandma, sister and friend, and a big part of the community. She will be missed very much!
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by her son Steve Martindale, daughter Kelly (Dave) Wallace, sisters Jean and Martha Jo of Oklahoma; grandchildren Cameron Martin, Jasmine (Shad) Brown, and Jason (Amy) Martindale; and great grandchildren Roxy, Levi, Ruby, and Lucas.
