Joyce Jean Brown

Joyce Jean Jones-Brown passed away Tuesday morning, March 30, 2021, at the age of 87.

Joyce was born in Oklahoma on August 16, 1933. She spent her school years in Oklahoma and California, braved the Alaskan wilderness, then finally settled in her beloved Farmington in 1958 where she helped raise a family of five with the love of her life, James L. Brown.

Joyce loved stories and with her family at the center of her life, she was never short on material. While she loved to write and tell stories, she loved to listen to them the most. The closer the words were to your heart, the more endearing they were to Joyce, and the more she wanted to hear.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James L. Brown, and is survived by her children, Leslie Murray, David Brown, Mark Brown, Michael Brown, and Teresa Anderson; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Joyce by telling your stories.  A celebration of Joyce’s life is planned for later in the year.
