September 15, 1988 — September 29, 2012

FARMINGTON
Joseph "Joe" Richard Applegate
Sept. 15, 1988-Sept. 29, 2012

Joseph Richard Applegate stepped off his snowboard, planted one last flower and moved from this life on Sept. 29, 2012. He successfully completed his mortal mission and returned to his heavenly home to be with his Grandma and Grandpa Bassett.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1988 to Kent Applegate and Elizabeth Bassett Applegate. He lived the first 5 years of his life in Provo, Utah before moving to Farmington, at the age of 6. Here he enjoyed scouting, making blanket forts with his family, trading his Pokemon cards and camping.
He attended Piedra Vista High School where he played bass in the orchestra and ran track. He earned his Eagle Scout by using his knowledge of the GIS program - creating a map of the trail system in Berg Park.
Joe has always had a love of the outdoors. Any free time he had he would go longboarding, biking, camping, hiking. He also loved his plants - orchids, bells of Ireland, geraniums, "snappies", etc. Mom's garden is "The Garden Joe Built".
On Halloween night 2009, he took notice of his sister's cute little friend, Tannie. He eventually asked her out and their friendship developed into a romance. On Oct. 23, 2010, he married his very best friend, starting off a wonderful adventure. Although their time together on this earth was short, they packed as much love into that time as possible.
He is survived by his wife, Tanith Morgan Stradling; parents, Kent and Liz Applegate; brother, Tanner; sisters, Chelsea and Ashley; many cousins, aunts and uncles on both the Applegate and Bassett side and loving family on the Stradling side.
Funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel, 4400 College Boulevard, Farmington, on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. Friends will be welcome from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, 3 p.m. in West Valley City, Utah.
Joe is in the care of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute Street, Farmington. 505-325-8688
