Jose Eliceo "Lee" Santistevan Sr., 76, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, in Bloomfield. He was born April 1, 1938, in Douglas, Wyo., to Solomon Isacc Santistevan and Manuelita Arjuillo.
Lee served in the National Guard and was employed by Dresser Engineering, Mesa Residential Community. He enjoyed camping, fishing and Aztec Tiger's softball and football. He loved telling stories about his younger days.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jose Ignacio Santistevan.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Santistevan; son Jose Santistevan Jr.; daughter Edythe Garbarini; brother Sam Santistevan; sister Delores Santistevan; grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Anthony and wife Brittany Williams, Tiffany Santistevan, Tessa Santistevan, Taylor Santistevan, Heather Garbarini, Andrew Garbarini; great-grandchildren, Brylie Elise Williams, Karlie Meketi and Ayden Valverde.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at Cross Roads Community Church, 2400 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington.
Burial will be at a later date in Wyoming.
Pallbearers are his grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to the family or to Northwest Hospice.
Jose's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., 505-334-9332.
