J. Orlando Jacques, 84, of Bloomfield, went home to meet with the Lord Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Bloomfield. He was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Gallina, N.M. to Eudoro and Frances Jaquez.
Orlando moved to Aztec as a youngster. He met and married "the love of his life," Louise in 1951. Both, Orlando and Louise were devoted to serving the Lord and raised their children to serve the Lord. Orlando enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved peaceful time in the mountains. He will be fondly remembered for his "train whistle." Orlando's greatest desire was for all his descendants to know and serve the Lord.
Orlando was preceded in death by his parents, Eudoro and Frances Jaquez; and brothers, Ernest, Leo and Fidel Jaquez. He is survived by his wife, M. Louise Jacques; son, Ronald (Laura) Jacques; daughters, Delilah Pacheco, Lydia (Perry) Randolf, Doris (J.D.) Estrada, Michelle (Darren) Lange and Lisa (Marshall) Elvidge; brother, Don (Mary) Jaquez; sisters, Stella Brown and Bernice Smith; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service for Orlando will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15 at the Templo Sinai Assembly of God, 800 McCormick School Road in Farmington with Pastor David Velasquez officiating. Burial will follow at the Aztec Cemetery, 700 Chamisa Ave. in Aztec.
Pallbearers are Robert Pacheco, Eric Estrada, Aaron Estrada, Ryan Eades, Ronnie Jacques and Paul Hererra Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Master's Hand Church, 306 N. 7th St. in Bloomfield.
