Johnny C. Lopez Sr. passed away on May 18, 2016 at his residence in Grants, New Mexico. He was 68. Johnny was born in Del Agua, Colorado.
Mr. Lopez was a lifelong resident of Gallup and Milan, New Mexico. He served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He was a former Police Officer and also worked for the Anaconda Mine Company, but will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather that treasured their camping and fishing trips. He was loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his children; Johnny D. Lopez, Anthony G. Lopez and his companion Melanie Lester, Elisia M. Pena and her husband Joseph. The mother of his children; Pat Lopez. Thirteen grandchildren; Johnny Erich, Kiana Marie, Bryanna Faith, Seth Daniel, DeSheila, Richard, Alex, Eric, Dameon, Ariana, Kenneth, Timothy, and Veronica. Four Great-grandchildren; Adrianne, Ganessah, Serenity, and "on the way" Nicholes. One brother; Tony Lopez and his wife Myong along with their family. Two sisters; Mary Helen Lopez and her family. Linda Lopez and her family. Along with numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Johnny Montano, Cruza and Dan P. Lopez.
On Friday May 27, 2016 at St. Vivian Catholic Church, in Milan, New Mexico, A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM then at 11:00 AM a Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Robert Mathieu. Inurnment will follow at Grants Memorial Park with VFW Post #3221 providing military honors.
Honorary Pallbearers include; All of his grandchildren.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
