John Edward Ransberger, 63, of Farmington, (formerly of Given, West Virginia) passed away at home on Monday, June 5th, surrounded by loving family. He was born on November 11, 1953, in Charleston, West Virginia, and was raised by his mother, Edith Cunningham. John graduated from Dunbar, WV High School in 1971. He served in the US Air Force from 1973 until 1994 when he retired as E-8 Senior Master Sergeant after many posts in the US, England, and Portugal. John returned to West Virginia to work as an owner/operator chemical tank driver until 2016. He re-retired to New Mexico, with plans to watch NY Yankee baseball games and play golf.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Edith M. Cunningham (Boggess) and his grandparents, William R. and Alphie Mae Boggess. John is survived by his wife, Melanie Ransberger, of Farmington; son Dale Ransberger; daughters Syreta Payne and Tammy Ransberger, all of the UK. He is also survived by his brother, Frank (Jeanne) Ransberger and sister Barbara (Steve) Taylor; nieces Traci Ransberger and Jennifer Ransberger; nephew Geoff Taylor; and grandchildren Ryan, Kieran, Bethany, Daisy and Harper.
A celebration of John's life will be planned at a later date.
