John Pedersen

John Martin Pedersen, Jr, passed away on Thursday, October 21st, 2021, in Farmington, NM.
John Martin Pedersen, Jr, was born on March 10, 1930, to John Martin and Veleria Golda “Goldie” (Powers) Pedersen in the country north of Halsey, NE. He and his sisters, Helen and Connie, grew up 17 miles south of Wood Lake on the family ranch. John attended school only through the 8th grade at the local country school. He then stayed on the family ranch as a hired hand and even cared for his own cattle.
October 11, 1951, John married Meredith JoAnne Kirman and together they had Bill Randy, Joseph Allen and James Martin. They lived in Lead, SD, for awhile while John worked for Homestake Mining Co. When Meredith passed away in January 1965, John moved to Colorado.
John married Delaphine Davis in August of 1968 and they lived in Colorado where John worked for the City of Denver Water Dept. Upon his retirement in 1996, they moved to Farmington, NM, where they have resided since.
John is survived by his wife, Della, of Farmington, sons Joe and Jim, sister Helen Jones of Ainsworth, NE, grandson Shane (Linda) Pedersen of Pierce, NE, greatgrandchildren Ashley, Noah & Madalyn of Pierce, NE, sisters-in-law Sylvia and Jeannette, step-daughters Diana Davis and Bobbie Knott, and numerous cousins.
Predeceased by his first wife, Meredith, daughter-in-law Tamra (Mann) Pedersen, and son, Bill.
