Richard Miller, 66, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in Farmington. He was born April 1, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, to John and Dorothy Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Art. John is survived by his adoring wife, Denice Miller; his sister, Marge Sanchez; his children; nieces and nephews; and his many grandchildren. The Miller children include Michael John (Daniel Smith), Abby Lynne (Nic Stark) and Rick Daniel (Amber Mathes). The Mohler children include Shana (George) and David "Shane" (DeDe Mohler).
John graduated from Worland High School in 1967 and went on to attend college at the University of Wyoming and Casper College. He served for many years in the U.S. National Guard and worked in the oil field for 40 years, both in the United States and overseas. He loved his job very much and always returned to the field with enthusiasm. John was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, bowler and grandfather. He put 110 percent into everything he did. Just to be around him was a gift. He had a smile and a giggle that were infectious. You would always smile and laugh along with him. His kindness and generosity knew no limits. If you needed it, he would give you the shirt off of his back. If he thought you needed something or had a problem, he was the first person to offer assistance. He was an amazing father, friend and husband whose light shined from within. He is, and always will be, greatly missed. Please, in lieu of flowers, make a donation in John's name to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Association.
A memorial service for John will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Summit Church, 1200 E. 30th St. in Farmington with officiant pastor Dan Morrison.
John's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington, 505-327-5142.
