John LaVelle Lichliter quietly slipped through Heaven's door on the evening of November 10, 2016 in Richland, WA; he died from complications of strokes and diabetes. He was born to John Arthur and Reva (Armstrong) Lichliter on the family farm north of Cortez, CO on October 20, 1938. He attended elementary school in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Cortez High School in 1957. He married Nadean Willden on January 30, 1963 and were later sealed in the Mesa, AZ LDS temple. John was employed with Halliburton Services for over 30 years. After retiring, John and Nadean served an LDS mission in Portland, OR. He is survived by his wife Nadean, three children - Douglas (Rebbie), LaDena (Scott) Woodcox, David (Nikki), brothers Troy and Ron Lichliter. He now looks down from heaven on his 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane and sister Aurta Lichliter.
Viewing will be at 10AM with the Funeral service at 11AM on Saturday, November 19th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4400 College Blvd, Farmington, NM. Interment will be at the Cortez, CO cemetery at 3PM.
