John Richard Henderson

John R Henderson joined his wife in heaven on February 9, 2016. John was born on May 5, 1943 in Gladewater, TX, the son of Clarence Henderson and Velma (Gandy) Henderson.

John was a beloved husband of 51 wonderful years. Their lives were filled with their love and the love they had for their family. John was a Marine that served in the Vietnam War. He joined the Fire Department in Vanderwagen, NM, and became an EMT. He discovered in himself that he had a strength to help people in crisis moments. John later became the Fire Chief, and joined the Red Cross. He traveled to many states helping families. He was a member of the Kiwanias and was the manager at Kamp Kiwanias.

John is survived by his 3 daughters Teri Kaye Harris and husband Larry D Harris, Tina Kaye Maudsley and husband Damon Maudsley, and Rebecca Denoncour; grandchildren, Jeramie W Davis and Constance, Chris JH Davis and Shaw Marie Davis, Elysia Ann Runyan, Andrea Edwards, Jennifer Amshey and Phillip Sharrer; great grandchildren, Jayden Davis, Gabriel Davis, Savannah Davis, Gauge Davis, Aubrey Davis, Heather Carnes, Braxton Amshey, Kaiya Sharrer, Aria Sharrer and Alexander Edwards; sisters Jackie Tolan, Gina Polly, Mary Jane Strickland, Dee Plexco, Rhonda McPherson, Stacy Gonzales, and many dear friends.

John's family wanted to give a special thanks to Dr. Syed Kazmi, MD and his wonderful staff for always being the caring people that always had a hug and smile for him. A thank you for Guardian Angel Home Health Hospice for the attentive care of him and his family.

Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life for John will be held at a later date.

John's care is entrusted to the Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
