John Stonebraker Books, 77, of Aztec, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Farmington. He was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Altoona, Pa.
John served in the U.S. Air Force.
He loved fishing, hunting and ranching.
He was employed by Southern Union Gas Company and the Gas Company of New Mexico for over 25 years.
He was a loving and caring husband to Mary Jane for 54 years.
John was a great husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Books; his parents, John and Florence Books and his sister, Patricia Lane.
John is survived by his sons, Mike (Pam) Books; daughter, Coni Amburn; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Please join us for a time of remembrance 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec.
John's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., in Aztec 505-334-9332.
