Jerry Dee Parson

December 14, 1958 — April 10, 2021

On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Jerry Parson, 62, passed away after a long and mighty battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jerry was born on December 14, 1958 in Beloit, KS to Leo and June Parson.  He moved to Farmington, NM in 1983.  He had two daughters from his first marriage, Jennifer and Jessica.  On February 25, 1991, he married Stacey Morris.  They had one daughter together, Haley.  They recently celebrated 30 years of marriage.

Jerry owned and operated the Big O Tires store for over 20 years, and starred in his own radio commercials.  People recognized his voice even years after selling the business.  After his time at Big O, he worked as the Fleet Manager for the City of Farmington before retiring in 2019.

Jerry enjoyed watching football and motorsports.  He attended the 100th running of the Indy 500 with a group of high school buddies, and he watched the Kansas City Chiefs finally win a Super Bowl!  He wrestled in high school and then took his talents to the mat again years later as a coach.  He was a natural horticulturist and enjoyed his summers in his beautiful backyard.  At one point in his life, he was a certified rescue diver and enjoyed several trips to diving destinations.  He learned the game of softball as a spectator and supported his daughter’s decade-long involvement in the sport. His last adventurous hobby was riding his Razor, where he found great peace and tranquility in the mountains around Silverton, CO.  With each new job or hobby, he developed meaningful relationships and friendships.  And whether they lasted decades or a few short years, he relished it all.

Jerry is survived by his wife Stacey, his parents, Leo and June Parson, his three daughters, Jennifer Cramer (Matthew Cramer), Jessica Parson-Dellow (Justin Dellow), Haley Parson (Joshua Smith), his brother Larry Parson (Karen Allen), his four adored grandchildren, Landon Cramer, Ashlyn Cramer, Luke Cramer, and Logan Cramer, several in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved grandma, Juanita Robinson.

A memorial service will be held in a few weeks, arrangements are pending at this time.
