Jennifer "Jenny" Jean Bendure, 37, passed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Jenny was born April 20, 1976, in Winchester, Kan., and spent her first four years living on the family farm.
In 1980, her family moved to Wyoming, and Jenny attended Meeteetse Public School from kindergarten until her seventh-grade year in the spring of 1989. This is where all of Jenny's childhood memories were made. The family then transferred to Farmington. Jenny attended Hermosa Junior High, where she played volleyball and basketball. She also attended Farmington High School, where she managed the volleyball and girls basketball teams and was a member of the golf team. Jenny graduated from Farmington High School in 1994 and moved to Durango, Colo., for a few years. She loved living there and developed many strong friendships. Jenny returned to Farmington for a couple of years and then decided to make a change and moved to Albuquerque in 2000. While in Albuquerque, Jenny received an associate degree in art, majoring in graphic design from The Art Center. This was her true love. Jenny moved back to Farmington in late spring of last year to be closer to family. She was working as a pre-press tech at The Daily Times.
Jenny was very loyal, dependable, hardworking, funny and friendly. She always had many friends. She strongly believed in karma and was very quick to help those truly in need. She was very creative and artistic and leaves behind many examples of her artwork and writings that will be truly cherished. Jenny loved watching movies and her favorite TV shows. She also loved listening to many types of music and going to see concerts. Her favorite band was Pink Floyd, and she loved Adele from the first time she heard her sing. She loved her cats over the years. She loved anything with frogs or owls, and she collected shot glasses. One of her favorite things was spending time just hanging out with friends and family. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trip to North Carolina and to Las Vegas, Nev.
Jenny was preceded in death by her dad, Ralph Edward Bendure; her paternal grandparents, Clarence and Lorraine Bendure; her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Shirley Allen; her uncles, Mike Allen and Ronald Elsey; and her dear friend, Nik Miller. Jenny leaves behind her mom, Patti Bendure of Farmington; sisters, Kathy Rountree (Gary) and Kristy Graham (Jeff); nieces, Kaleigh Graham and Macenz Rountree; nephews, Brandon Woods, Cameron Woods, Jarrett Graham, Logan Woods and Austin Rountree; her aunts, Marie Elsey and Becky Hagston (Jim); uncle, Carl Bendure (Patty); ex-brother in-law, Ron Woods (Jaime); and numerous cousins.
