The family soon returned to Weatherford and JB graduated from Weatherford High School in 1946.
JB continued his studies and decided to become a preacher, graduating from Abilene Christian College in 1950. He began his ministry full-time that same year with the Church of Christ in Texhoma, Oklahoma. Then, in 1952, JB moved to Elkhart, Kansas, where he met and married the love of his life, Ruth, his wife of 66 years.

JB is also survived by his sister, Sue Robinson of Weatherford, TX, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
JB’s purpose in life was sharing God’s love for us with everyone around him. He will always be remembered for the care and encouragement he shared with everyone he knew and for the godly example he was to his family, friends, and community in everything he did. In his last years, his great joy was sharing encouragement with his friends by email and on Facebook and keeping up with his grand/great-grandchildren online.
