Jimmy was born as a twin in Carnegie, OK to Robert Burl and Ethel Margret Hewes Britton on April 20, 1941. Jimmy spent his early years in Apache, OK and moved to Bloomfield, NM during his junior high school years. He graduated from Bloomfield High School and entered the Navy after graduation. He served for six years and was based at the U.S. Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, San Diego, California and also was stationed on naval ships that traveled to Japan, Viet Nam, Phillipines, and Korea. He loved fishing and hunting and loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ethel Britton. He is survived by his only son and light of his life, Robbie Britton (Shawna) of Farmington, step-daughters Debbi Vavra (Glenn), Vicki Young (Morris), twin brother, Commie Britton of Apache, OK and sister, Syliva Domme of Bloomfield and 3 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Memorial service will be held at Brewer, Lee, and Larkin, 103 East Ute, Farmington, NM at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2013. Burial will follow at a later date in Carnegie, OK where Jimmy's life began.
