Jackson "Jack" F. Lee, 94, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Aztec. He was born April 8, 1920, in Freemont, Neb., to Earl Lee and Rebecca Pierce.
Jack attended Midland College in Nebraska and the University of Nebraska. He was a retired U.S Air Force Colonel and he served during World War II in the Pacific Theater in Air Traffic Control. He belong to the Phi Theta Fraternity, a life member of MOAA, San Juan County Rotary Club, Lion's Club of North Carolina, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, the foundation director of Cape Fear Community College in North Carolina, President of the North Carolina Broadcasters Association and the Chief of Legislative Affairs Federal Communications Commission, under Pres. Ronald Reagan. Jack worked in broadcasting and sales in Delaware, North Carolina and in Farmington. He was a former mayor (two terms) in Fayetteville, N.C. and the Republican Party Chair in North Carolina. His hobby was politics.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Virginia; his parents; and his brother Robert E. Lee.
He is survived by his wife Pam Lee; sons, Jackson F. (Sandy) Lee, Thomas (Becky) Lee, David Lee and Thomas (Jody) LaRue; daughter Virginia (Kim) Starke; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the San Juan Animal League or Navajo Ministries.
