Jack C. Glover was born November 29, 1929 at Topeka, Kansas, the son of Otis B. Glover and Anona Cain Glover. He passed away Sunday evening, January 26, 2014, at his home in Farmington, New Mexico at the age of 84. He was united in marriage to Betty Garcia on May 3, 1991 in Farmington. They were married 23 years. Jack grew up in Manhattan, Kansas with his parents and three siblings William (Bill)Carolyn and Anne. After he graduated from Manhattan High School on May 23, 1947, he attended Kansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science degree he joined the Marine Corp in July of 1951. While in the Marines he served as a communication lineman during the Korean War from May of 1952 to May of 1953. In December 1953 he married Marlene Ferlemann, the mother of his four daughters Diane Kay Glover, Karen Sue Glover, Judith Ann Glover and Elizabeth Jill Glover. His daughter Karen proceeded him in death in July 1993.
Jack ended his military carrier as a Staff Sargent earning several medals. In July 1954 he started working on his medical degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. . He received his degree of Doctor of Medicine in June 2, 1958. He served his internship in Ogden, Utah from July1, 958 to July 1, 1959. Jack started his Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City for one year. In July of 1960 Jack passed his Kansas State and National boards and became a Doctor of Anesthesiology. Jack moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1961 and started his medical career. After 4 years he moved to Farmington were he practiced medicine until he retired at age 65 in 1994. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter. He traveled the world to hunt and fish. Fishing was his passion. He could spend hours in the rivers casting his flies upon the water enjoying the outdoors and catching fish. He was a member of the Elks Clubs for over 50 years. The Elks Club was very important to him. He made lifelong friends at the Elks Club. In addition to his wife Betty Glover, Jack is survived by his three daughters, Diane Glover, Judy Anderson, Elizabeth (Jill) Glover, stepchildren Mark, Steve and John Garcia and Marcy Jamison and their families. one brother William (Bill) Glover, one sister Anne Parry and three grandchildren Jacqueline Masters, Steven Masters, and Garrett McKnight, Jack was expecting his first great grandchild this April. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Karen Glover and one sister Carolyn Banowetz. Cremation will take place and memorial services for Jack are Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Farmington Elk's Lodge, #1747, 801 Municipal Drive in Farmington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 2200 Space Park Drive, Suite #100, Houston, Texas 77058. Jack's services are entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., (505) 325-8688.
