Jack Foutz, 81, of Farmington, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013, in Farmington. He was born January 1, 1932, in Battle Mountain, Nevada, to Virgil and Agnes Foutz. They relocated in La Plata. Jack joined the U.S. Army and served in combat during the Korean War. In 1964, he married Barbara Bishop and had two sons, who also served their country. Jack and Barbara were avid rock hounds in the Gem and Mineral Society. He committed 40 years of his life as a heavy equipment operator in the oil fields of the San Juan Basin. But most importantly, Jack was born again Christian. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Foutz; his parents; brother, Doug Foutz; and sister, Adele Foutz. He is survived by his sons, Floyd (Tawana) Foutz and Michael Foutz; brothers, Bud and Gary Foutz; and his five grandchildren, Jeffery, Austin, Stephanie, Morgan and Isaac Foutz. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 N. Sullivan Ave. in Farmington, with Pastor Dan Mauldin officiating.
