Ivan Webb Clay Jr.

Ivan Webb clay Jr. passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He graduated from Artesia High School 1952. he served four years as an aviation electrician in the Navy. Ivan and Ellis Groomer started Clay-Groomer Machine Shop in 1980. Ivan enjoyed research and development. Some of their projects included a directional drilling tool and an 8-inch gun barrel and a drill bit for NASA.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Webb Clay Sr. and Bluebell Brashear: his step-father, William Brashear; one brother, Clifford Clay and his sister, Margaret Stiles. Three sister-in-laws Katherine, Eulilia, and Helen Clay.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Lexine; son, Ivan Wade (Lawanna) Clay; daughter, Katrina; two brothers, Jim and Gerald Clay; brother-in-law, Lonnie (Sharon) Cunningham; brother-in-law, Robert Stiles; grandchildren, Timothy ( Nicole) Cundiff, Zachary Clay, Trista (Andrew) Cassel, Michayla (Shea) Slade and Preston Clay; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A service will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute Street in Farmington.
