Isla Jean Crawford

Rev. Isla Jean Crawford, 85, of Flora Vista, NM, went home to be with the Lord September 24, 2020. She was born the third oldest child of 10 on June 29, 1935 in Indianola, NE to Lawrence T. Carpenter and Alice Mae Korb. Isla Jean was a true Proverbs 31 woman with a gentle, but sometimes feisty nature. She was always a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to four generations to follow. She graduated salutatorian of her class from Sargent High School. She married Harold Floyd Crawford on September 18, 1954 and they were married 61 years. She was mostly a homemaker, raising seven children, but also worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed and loved her family and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a minister with the Pentecostal Church of God beginning in 1996 and was ordained from 2002 to 2010.
Isla Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Lawrence T. and Alice Mae Carpenter, brother Warren (Betty) Carpenter, sister Katharine Ruth.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters Virginia (Leland-deceased) DePriest, Donald (Billie) Carpenter, Larry (Connie) Carpenter, Carolyn (Charles) Gustafson, MaryAnn (Bunky) Arnett, Teresa (Galen) Harrison and Vicki (Art) Jones. Also, her children Floyd (Dinah) Crawford of Flora Vista, NM, Audrey (Norman R.) Grobe of Ozark, MO, Sharon (Brad) Harder of Grand Island, NE, Marvin (Sandra) Crawford of Mesa, AZ, Dale (Charlene) Crawford of Farmington, NM, Lois (Jim) Lewis of Bloomfield, NM, Alan (Melissa) Crawford of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 2, 2020, at Bloomfield Assembly of God in Bloomfield, NM. 211 E. Oak St. with services immediately following at 11:00 am with grandson Bryan Crawford officiating. Service will also be viewed livestream on Facebook or YouTube at bloomfieldassembly.org. Interment will be at later date following cremation.
