Irene Andrea Luna Montano, 86, of Aztec, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016. Irene was born to Gilbert and Adelia Luna on January 30, 1930 in Blanco, NM.
She worked as a nursing assistant as she raised her children. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, baking, fishing and crocheting. Anytime visiting with grandchildren, she loved to tell stories of her "younger" days. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Rest with the angels little Grandma.
Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Montano; parents, Gilbert and Adelia Luna; brothers, Jerry Luna and Joe Luna. Irene is survived by her sons, Ben (Trini) Barela and Ross (Cidy) Montano; daughters, Adelia(Phillip) Jacquez, Eugenia Cormier, Rufina Andrea Moore; brother Max (Sharon) Luna; sisters, Angie Erickson and Mary (Chris) Sanchez; 39 grandkids and great grandkids who loved her all so much.
Rosary will be held Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at 7:00 pm., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St., in Farmington. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St., in Farmington with Father Frank Chacon officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the Mass at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington. Pallbearers are Dion Clark, Dominic Jacquez, Steve Cormier, Talia Villa, Manny Marquez and Alex Owen. Honorary Pallbearer, Phillip Jacquez.
