Helen Margaret Brown Sanders, 75, of Aztec, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Inn in Farmington. She was born May 23, 1937 in Mills, New Mexico to John and Iris Bauler.
Helen dearly enjoyed her sports, especially college basketball and football as well as being a Green Bay Packer Fan.
After her retirement Helen and her husband Leon enjoyed hunting and a lot of fishing together until Leon's death in 1994.
Helen's extended family consist of fourteen brothers and sisters.
Helen leaves behind her three daughters, Glenda (Tommy) Clements, Debbie (Danny) Weber and LaVeta (Jerry) Cockrell; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Iris Bauler; her husband, Leion Sanders; two sons, Daniel J. Brown, Joseph R. Brown and daughter, Lana C. Brown.
A special thanks to the staff at Cedar Ridge Inn, especially to Laura and Brenda who became very good friends to Helen.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec with Pastor John McEver officiating.
Burial will follow at the Aztec Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Helen's grandchildren, Lance Clements, Colby, Nicholas and Kyle Cockrell
