Helen Jean Kelt Hennrich passed life's earthly exams at the age of 91 on the morning of September 10, 2021 while in company of two of her children and the caring staff of Life Care Center of Farmington. She passed peacefully having seen all her children in the last week. Her journey now takes her to be reunited with her husband Fred Curtis Hennrich, her parents Herman Eicke Kelt and Pansy Valentine Palmer Kelt, brothers Bill, Herman E. and sister Katherine. Though we will miss Mom we know she is now with family who has previously taken the path back to Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Dad took 3 years to complete their mansion in Heaven so she could join him.
Jean to all her friends was born July 1, 1930, the youngest of 4, in Carrizozo, New Mexico. She grew up with her companion Boots, a brown and black fox terrier who was with her from 3 to 16. Mom would deliver special delivery mail for her dad who was the postmaster after her nap. She got paid 2 cents so she and Boots could get a piece of candy at Padens Drug store.
Mom moved back home after graduating from Texas Women's College with a degree in business where she had joined Beta Sigma Phi.
She met Fred in Carrizozo while she was employed as Lincoln County treasurer. Dad was working on his aunt's ranch. Becky and Fred G. were born to them while there. A move to Albuquerque brought another son Curtis into her life. In 1958 the family moved to Farmington where Mom raised her family. Mom worked for Farmington Public Schools at Ladera, Animas and Hermosa schools. She worked in CPA offices, motels, and later KFC franchises in their offices as a bookkeeper. She served in various callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some included were Primary, Relief Society, ordinance worker in the Albuquerque, NM temple and service Mission at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Following the children growing up, she and Dad lived in Durango, Co., Corrales and Bernalillo, NM before moving back to Farmington to finish her journey in life.
Dad entered Life Care in January 2017 due to onset of dementia. Mom couldn't stand to be separated from him, so she joined him in March of that same year. She stayed by his side until his death in 2018. She was cared for by the staff in a caring and loving manner until her own passing.
Mom is survived by her 3 children, Becky Foutz and husband Brent, Fred G. Hennrich and wife Janice, Curtis Hennrich and wife Marilyn and their extended families including 16grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren. Her friends from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, her Beta Sigma Phi sisters.
