Helen Morgan Culpepper, 78, of Aztec, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Farmington. She was born August 27, 1934, in Durango, Colorado to Mary Helen WIlcox and Gibson Porter Morgan. Helen was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a school teacher for 17 years and a school counselor for 10 years in Ohio and New Mexico. She touched the lives of many. Helen was very active in her church life. She loved making quilts and playing cards. Her quick wit and loving generosity will be missed. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Culpepper, parents and her sister, Ester Morgan. She is survived by her daughters, Maribeth Culpepper, Rickisue H.C. and Rex Daly and Josie Culpepper; son, Dwayne Detsoi; brother, Jerry Morgan; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Aztec Presbyterian Church, 205 N. Church Ave. in Aztec, with pastor Dwain DePew officiating.
