Helen G. Begay, 102, of Farmington, died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 in Farmington. She was born July 15, 1910 in Bisti to Hosteen and Yi baa dos baa Begay. She was born to Hooghanlani.
Helen went home to be with Jesus. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Grandma was well known for her generosity.
She will be greatly missed. She was a lifetime Navajo rug weaver. Her life will be remembered by the many Navajo rugs she wove.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Gleason Begay; son, Robert G. Begay; daughters, Mary G. White and Maybelle G. Jim; her parents; brothers, Tsosie and Che-wot Begay; sisters, Louise and Ella Werito; grandparents, To'dighini yahzi and T'aaji Hataali' and three grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sarah B. and Bessie G. Yazzie; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Navajo Brethren in Christ Mission (B.I.C.) in Otis with Pastor Ray Henry officiating.
Burial will be in the Navajo Brethren in Christ Cemetery.
A reception will follow in the mission.
