Gloria Jean (Devine) King, 81, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 in Farmington. She was born July 28, 1931 in Dresden, Ohio to Henry and Wilma Devine.
She was the youngest of four children. She was raised in Ohio and moved to Albuquerque in her teens. While in Albuquerque she met and married the love of her life, Marlin King.
While in Albuquerque, they had two daughters, Linda and Susan. Marlins career moved the King family to Los Alamos. Once the girls were married and on their own, Marlin and Gloria made their way to the Four Corners and settled in Bloomfield.
On Feb. 8, 1998, Marlin passed away and Gloria never remarried. After fifteen years she has been reunited with her loving husband in Heaven.
Over those fifteen years she kept very busy. She did hospice care for several families in Bloomfield and Aztec and retired in 2003.
Gloria was preceded in death by her closest friend and husband, Marlin; her parents, Wilma and Henry and her three siblings, Fredrick, William and Marjorie.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Kathryn King Hollingsworth and Susan Jeanette King; her son-in-laws, Charles Hollingsworth and Charles Hartnett; her six grandchildren, Lori, Tammie, Tiffany and Charles Hollingsworth and Marlin and Dustin Horton. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Diego, Matao, Lee, Katelyn, Garce, Jace, McKenna, Devan, Rylan and Barrett.
Visitation for Gloria will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Chapel.
A grave side service will follow at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Kathleen Potter officiating.
Gloria's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
