Gloria Jean Fry

August 18, 1941 — October 15, 2015

Gloria Jean (Deller) Fry, 74 of Farmington, left this world to meet the love of her life, Jim Fry, on the golden streets of heaven on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had surgery on the day her husband passed away. She remained strong for everyone, even in her own pain.

Gloria became one of the first female police officers in Albuquerque. She worked Homicide and Vice Squad. She met Jim and, after a short courtship, married in Las Vegas, Nev. on December 30, 1966. They didn't have much in the beginning, but they always had each other. Gloria dabbled in ceramics, cleaning new homes, and school bus driving until she started donating her time to Family Crisis Center. Gloria was well known in the state for her innovation in domestic violence. She loved counseling and did that for almost 20 years. She started the first misdemeanor adult probation in New Mexico. She retired from Pesco as part of the Employee Assistance Program.

Above all things, Gloria loved her children and grandchildren. She loved her flowers and yard and could grow anything! She also enjoyed crocheting and painting.
Gloria loved the Lord and her church family at FUMC. She loved her Emmaus group, Sunday school classes, and Wednesday nights. She will be missed; especially her quick wit and beautiful smile. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Fry who passed away on May 14, 2015; her parents Kenneth and Thelma Deller; her brothers Robert Deller, Peter Deller, and Dean Sears; sister Patti (Pete) Deller; and nephew Aaron Deller.

She is survived by her son Robert Fry; daughters Vickie (Joe) Fileccia of Texas and Jeanne (Kerry) Winchell; brothers Kenneth (Sandy) Deller, Richard (Chris) Deller and Art (Kathi) Deller; sister Pauline (Deller) Sears; and grandchildren Andrew Rogers of Vt, Nichole Rogers of Conn., Adam Winchell and Zachary Winchell.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 pm Monday, November 2nd at the First United Methodist Church, 807 N. Monterey, in Farmington, with Tim Castillo and Brian Adams officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Kerry Winchell, Adam Winchell, Zachary Winchell, Joe Fileccia, Andrew Rogers and Nichole Rogers.

Gloria is in the care of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., Farmington. (505) 325-8688
