Georgia Anna Velasquez-Alcon was born to Augustine & Felicita Velasquez July 13, 1957 in Durango, Colorado. She lived in Bloomfield, NM at the time of her death October 05, 2021. She was 64 years old.

She graduated from Ignacio High School in Ignacio, Colorado in 1974. She then attended the School of Hard Knocks where she became a professor.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Larry Alcon and baby son Angel Alcon and parents Augustine and Felicita Velasquez. Also several Nieces and Nephews and God brothers and God sisters.

She is survived by her Daughter Shugery Montes and Son Augustine Alcon and 6 grandchildren: Daddio Montes, Brisa Montes, Byonce Montes, Dominica Gomez, Augustine Alcon Jr., and Felicita Alcon, also Sisters Virginia Velasquez, Martha Monte, Marlene Velasquez and Brother Sam Velasquez and faithful cat Peaches. Also several Nieces and Nephews, God Brothers and God sisters and friends who adopted her as mother.

Georgia dedicated her life to be a housewife and mother. She also  Loved volunteering to cook for weddings, funerals, parties and family reunions. She took pride in baking and decorating wedding cakes and all occasion cakes.

Georgia loved cooking outside over an open flame, it took her back to the good old days. Georgia begin cooking at an early age and blossomed into a great cook, creating savory meals of all sorts and inspiring her family to take that path. Her favorite of all was baking and challenging herself to create something new. Her love was to pass the skills to her grand children then hoping to share the recipe with them. She looked forward to planting a garden of vegetables and flowers each year. She also loved arts and crafts making floral arrangements, crochet and taking on new challenges. Georgia loved music and looked forward to going dancing every chance she got.

A wake and Rosary will be held at her home Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Call (505) 486-4620 for directions. On Wednesday morning her body will be transported to Ignacio, Colorado where the family will give her a grave side memorial service officiated by Pastor David Velasquez at 11:00 a.m.
