Gary "Moon" Mullins
May 15, 1954 - Nov. 16, 2015
Gary "Moon" Mullins passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. Moon was born on May 15, 1954, in Florence, Colo., to Burdette and Lois Mullins. Moon grew up in Colorado, where he played football and developed a love for the outdoors. He met the love of his life, Sheree, at a kissing contest and the two were married in 1978, and settled in Aztec. An avid hunter and fisherman, Moon spent much of his free time in the Four Corner wilderness with his sons Jeremy and Jerry, where he taught them to appreciate God's creations. Moon was a hard working man and worked for PNM San Juan Generating Station for 30 years. He sacrificed his time and his body to provide a good life for his family. His retirement years were spent with his beloved wife Sheree, travelling to NASCAR races and to visit his eight grandchildren. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was accepting of everyone he met and was truly a man with no enemies.
Moon was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sheree; his sons, Jeremy and Jerry; his brother, his sister; and his eight grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan, Mia, Garet, Junior, Janele, Kayson Moon and Abigail.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Oasis Ministries, 1601 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
Moon is in the care of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington. (505)325-8688.
