Fred Scott Barr

April 30, 1942 — December 15, 2015

Fred "Scotty" Barr, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 15, 2015. He was born on April 30th, 1942 in Picher, Oklahoma to Ivan and Nadine Barr. Scotty attended Farmington High School before he enlisted with U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. After jumping out of perfectly good airplanes in the Army, Scotty had various careers before he found his niche as an operator on drilling and workover rigs. After 28 years on the "brake handle" Scotty retired from Aztec Well Service. Scotty had numerous hobbies including camping, fishing, Ham radios, tinkering around in his shop; but his favorite thing to do was drink a cup of coffee, smoke a cigarette and have a conversation.
Scotty is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronnie and Tommy McNease; and his brother, Randy Barr. Scotty is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosetta; sister, Rose Coburn; daughter, Marilyn Proctor and fiancé Herman Duran; grandsons, Josh Proctor and his wife Shilo, Freddy Proctor and his wife Gina; great-grandson, Kaden; numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog, Shadow.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E Ute Street, Farmington.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 10:00am at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Josh, Freddy and Kaden Proctor; Robert, Charles and Frank Barr; Tyler, Travis and Trenton Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are Herman Duran, Jerry Basco and James Penrod.
The family would like to thank the entire Progressive Care Unit and SJRMC for their care of Scotty through his final days.
