Frankie Monte age 74, passed away on April 19, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico. He was born on May 11, 1945 in Thoreau, New Mexico.
Frankie was a free spirit that lived his life on his own terms. He spent most of his life as a self-employed silversmith, but had worked as a mechanic, a custodian at Thoreau Elementary school, and as a horse trainer at the Santa Fe Downs. He was loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his children; Ted Moore, Maxine Monte and her husband James Spidle, Ginger Gonzales and her wife Angel, and Virgil Brown. 8 grandchildren; Dyla, Dj, Arianna, KayLee, Anna, JJ, Dakota, and Natalie. 7 great-grandchildren. His siblings; Lenore Hoskie and her husband Reid, Leroy Monte, Rita Montoya, Jeanette Saunders, Roberta Begay and her husband Herbert, Robert McBride and his wife Vivian. Along with numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Marcellino Monty and Lorraine Saunders. 2 great-grandchildren; Ella Grace Martinez and Camden John Martinez. His brother; Jasper Saunders. His sister; Geraldine Saunders.
A private graveside service will take place at the Thoreau Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Dj Martinez, James Spidle, Kim Garduno, Angel Gonzales.
Cope Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
