Frances Faith Patterson Tretton, 94, of Aztec, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017. She was born July 11, 1923, in Gilmer, Texas.
Frances was a graduate of Texas State College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a member of the Honorary Music Society and Women's Defense Corps during WWII. Frances taught music education, academics, and the Christian Doctrine Program of the Catholic Church. She was a skilled musician and published poet. She most wanted to be known for her religious beliefs and how much she loved her family.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Marie Therese Sromek and husband Micheal E. Sromek; daughter, Madeline Maria Tretton; grandchildren, April Mitchell and husband, Vincent Mitchell, Nathan Tretton and wife Angelina Tretton, Benjamin Tretton; Faith Eldridge and husband AJ Eldridge; Krista Knorr; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at St. Joseph's Church, 424 N. Mesa Verde, Aztec with Reverend David Tate, O.F.M., officiating. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated for Frances at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Aztec Cemetery, 700 Chamisa Ave. in Aztec immediately following the services.
Pallbearers are Nathan and Benjamin Tretton, Vincent Mitchell, Shaun Lasater, Brandon March, and AJ Eldridge.
