"Fritzi" Frances Lee (Zaiontz) Trent passed after a four-year, courageous and hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Denver, Colo., where she grew up with a love of the mountains. Later she moved to Dallas, Texas, and Fritzi met the love of her life, Nelson, while working at Texas Instruments. They married in April of 1969, then they moved to Tyler, Texas, where they lived for 33 years. After retirement and they moved to Flora Vista. She was back to her beloved mountains. Fritzi was an avid gardener, reader, crafter and an artist, creating stained glass artwork, floral arrangements, and hand thrown pottery dishes and ornaments. Her pottery art crosses are sold at a dear friends shop in Silverton, Colo. Fritzi was a strong, vibrant, funny, loving person that will be missed by many.
She will be dearly missed by her husband and best friend of 47 years, Nelson. She is also survived by her daughter, Tracey and her husband, Jason Jones of Tyler; stepson, Brian and wife, Jessica Trent of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, Davis and Dawson Trent of Lewisville, and David and Camryn Trent of Longs, S.C.; sister, Jeanie and husband, Don Varela of San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Fern Zaiontz; sister, Ida Garcia; and son, SFC Nelson David Trent was killed in action, Dec. 13, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
A scattering ceremony will be held in the fall of 2015.
