Florence Ebert, 94, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away Monday, January 18, 2013 in Farmington. She was born October 30, 1918 to Herman and Elfrieda Ebert in Urbana, Illinois. She attended school in Urbana and graduated from Urbana High School in 1936.
Florence became an x-ray technician at Christie Clinic in Champaign and made it a career retiring from the clinic in 1981. She was the oldest living member of St. John's Lutheran's Church in Champaign. Florence belonged to the Mary Martha Society and the Altar Guild and also worked with the Ladies Bazaar.
In February of 2012 Florence left Champaign for Farmington, New Mexico to be close to her family and resided at Namaste' House, an assisted living facility.
She was a loving, caring individual that was always nurturing others and was beloved by all that knew her.
Florence was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Lehmer, her mother Elfrieda Ebert and father Herman Ebert. She also was preceded in death by a niece Nancy Lehmer Officer of Durango, Colorado.
Surviving Miss Ebert is her nephew, Dr. Robert Lehmer of Farmington, NM, grand nieces Suzanne Bleike of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Erin Lehmer Powell of Durango, Colorado and a grand nephew, Jamie Lehmer of Longmont, Colorado.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 509 S Mattis Ave, in Champaign Saturday, February 2. Funeral services will follow Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 509 S Mattis Ave, in Champaign.
Memorials may be made in Florence's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church in Champaign.
