Eugene Chavez

Eugene Chavez, passed away on May 7, 2014 at his home in San Rafael surrounded by his loving family, he was 74. He was born on May 19, 1939 in San Rafael to Augustine and Lucy Chavez.
Mr. Chavez worked for several mining and milling companies. He also moved to Nevada where he was employed and retired from the Tonopah Test Range.
He is survived by his wife Mary Dannie Chavez. His sons; Augustine Chavez, Eric and his wife Clair Chavez, Paul and his wife Teri Chavez, Patrick Chavez, and Pete and his wife Karen Chavez. His daughter; Camille and her husband James Montoya. His brothers; Manuel Chavez, and Richard Chavez. His sisters; Silva Salcido and Mary Padilla. 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son; Eugene Chavez Jr. His parents; Augustine and Lucy Chavez. And his brothers; Cecilio Chavez and Martine Chavez.
Funeral Services will take place at San Rafael Catholic Mission on Friday May 9, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm a visitation will be held, at 7:00 PM a Rosary Vigil will be recited. On Saturday May 10, 2014 at 10:00 am a mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Mike Vigil also at the San Rafael Catholic Mission. Burial will follow at the San Rafael Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Eric Chavez, Paul Chavez, Patrick Chavez, Pete Chavez, James Montoya and Eugene Montoya.
Honorary Pallbearers include; All of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cope Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
