Esther Mae Shrum

August 6, 1924 — November 11, 2014

Esther Mae Shrum, 90 of Kirtland, passed away on Tuesday, November 11th, 2014 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Esther was born on August 6, 1924 in Denver, CO. She is the daughter of Charles Edward and Evelyn Maude Pross.
Esther and Ivan Shrum were married on June 20th, 1941 in Denver, CO and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints LDS Temple in St George, Utah. They moved from Colorado to Kirtland, NM in 1991.
Her hobbies included drawing, painting, sewing and tending her roses.
Esther served as the district president of the ladies auxiliary for the VFW in northwestern Colorado. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Esther was the mother of three sons, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Ivan Shrum, her husband, preceded her in death. She leaves her sons, Dave (Shirlee) Shrum of Blanco, NM: Ken (Mary Ann) Shrum of Farmington, NM and Bill (Shelia) Shrum of Longwood, FL.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service for Esther will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday November 15th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 473 County Road 6100 with Bishop Marion Wells conducting.
