Ernest "Ernie" B Sandoval 63 left this earth on November 21, 2019, in Farmington, New Mexico.
Ernie was born on May 27, 1956 in Durango, Colorado. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School through 8th grade. He attended Farmington High school, and graduated class of 1975. Ernie was active in sports in school, he played baseball and football.
Ernie was a part of the original crew that opened up the first McDonalds in Farmington. He worked up to managerial status, and was sent to McDonalds University. He then relocated to California to manage, open new stores, and train new employees at numerous stores, including, but not limited to areas such as Chula Vista, Clairmont, Mission Valley and La Jolla.
Ernie was also employed by Coco's, IHOP, and Mimi's while he lived in San Diego.
It was during that time that he gained the love of the beach, and ocean breezes.
Ernie returned to Farmington 7 years ago to assist his father, Chef Bernie Sandoval in the business.
His hobbies and life enjoyments were watching sports of all kinds, but he was an avid lover of the San Diego Chargers, and kept the love through their change to the LA Chargers. He also enjoyed Nascar. His Sundays were usually spent with his brothers, watching racing or games, while barbecuing, and hanging out.
If he wasn't with his brothers, he was enjoying time with other family, or going to Connie Mack games, fishing for Salmon at Navajo Lake, riding in the boonies, riding motorcycles, and attending holiday events around town. He mostly favored Coffee break with the Trees during the Festival of Trees.
He loved his church, he loved Father Tim, and he loved his family.
Ernie was a happy soul, and a good, kind-hearted person. He will be missed by his loved ones, in a world of family and friends. Rest in peace son, father, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. You will never be forgotten.
Ernie was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Gonzales-Sears, and his step-father, James L Sears, Sr., his sister Christine Sandoval and his grandparents
Bernabe and Antonia Sandoval, and Pedro and Mary Gonzales.
Ernie is survived by his son, Christopher Styles, his daughters, Jessica Rice, Angela Sandoval-Ortiz, and Valerie Sandoval, his father, Bernabe Sandoval. his brothers, Andy Sandoval (Sharon), Jessie Sandoval (Deanna), James Sears, Jr, Trey Sandoval (Becky), and Wayne Sandoval, his sisters Teri Sandoval and Jennie Sanders (Chuck).
A rosary for Ernie will be held November 27th at 9 am at Sacred Heart Church, 414 Allen, with Mass to follow at 10 am. A reception will be held immediately following Mass. Pallbearers will be Andy Sandoval, James Sears, Jr., Trey Sandoval, Randy Douglass, Chuck Sanders and Kevin Thurston. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessie Sandoval, and Wayne Sandoval. Interment will be at Memory Gardens at 12:30 pm.
