Eric Jordan Fisher

Eric Jordan Fisher, 52, passed away on December 24, 2017. He was born January 16, 1965, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Gary and Suzy Fisher. Eric attended Farmington Public School from 1st grade until graduating from Farmington High School in 1983. He attended San Juan College, then graduated from Eastern NM University, with a degree in journalism and communications. Eric began his journalism career as a cub reporter for the Farmington Daily Times at the age of 16. He was told by the baseball coach that he was the best reporter they'd ever had. He worked for the Carlsbad Current-Argus, in the sports department, eventually becoming Sports Editor.
Eric moved his family back to Farmington, in 1999, to become editor of The Four Corners Business Journal. Eric worked for the Daily Times as Editor; until deciding to join Navajo Ministries, in 2008. There he worked as Director of Development, eventually becoming President. Eric was instrumental in raising funds enabling the Educational Center to be built at Navajo Ministries. Eric won many awards with his writings for Current-Argus, The Business Journal, and the Farmington Daily Times. Eric was a member of Kiwanis, Rotary International and First Presbyterian Church. The family moved to Pflugerville, TX, in 2017.
Eric is survived by his wife Terri Fisher, of Pflugerville, TX; son, Josh Fisher of Dallas, TX; daughters, Annette (Robbie) Wren, of Pflugerville, TX, Erin (Jake) Pitts, of Kansas City, MO, and Katherine Fisher of Albuquerque, NM; parents, Gary And Suzy Fisher of Farmington; and brother, Ross (Denise) Fisher of Corona, CA. Eric is also survived by his grandchildren; Troy, Tatiana, Emma, and Selena Wren, and Marlow Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 865 North Dustin Ave, Farmington, with Reverend Rebecca Morgan officiating.
Memorial donations for Eric's surviving family will be accepted by First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin Ave, Farmington, NM, 87401, or Navajo Ministries, 2103 West Main Street, Farmington, NM, 87401.
