Emma Leona Lamb, 85, of Aztec, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 in Farmington. She was born Oct. 26, 1927 in Caballo, to Joy Richard and Valley Hanna Gordon.
Leona was a kind and gentle person who spent her lifetime creatively expressing herself. She was an avid gardener, painter, antique collector and quilter.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Those who knew her were blessed to know a beautiful and cheerful soul, full of smiles and laughter. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Lamb; her parents; brother, Paul R. Gordon; sisters, Cristabel Gordon Crebs and Grace Gordon Davis and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her son, Steven Bruce Lamb and wife, Diane, of Aztec; sister, Frances Joy Gordon Coffey; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Cope Memorial in Aztec with Rev. Mark Coffee officiating.
Leona will be interred 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe.
Emma's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., in Aztec 505-334-9332.
