Elsie Maria Olivia Garduno entered into Heaven on June 23, 2015 in Albuquerque surrounded by her devoted and loving family, she was 68. She entered into life, on February 24, 1947 in Nambe, New Mexico to Gilberto Garduno and Genevieve Romero Garduno.
Ms. Garduno was the Matriarch of the Garduno family, which was her joy. Her love and guidance was her greatest hobby, she was an excellent cook and the family gatherings big and small were her pleasure. She enjoyed to care for all the babies, especially her nephews and nieces and then her great nephews and great nieces. Her love and her open arms, along with her ability to ask "what can I do for you" with genuine care. She was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. She was deeply devoted to the Lord, with special adoration for Santo Nino De Atocha. Her faith is a source of inspiration and comfort for her family. She was an avid reader and a member of the Janet Evanovich book club. She loved to make blankets and embroidered every day. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son Dominck Garduno of the family home in Grants. Her Siblings; Stella MacKenzie of Tucson, AZ., Ramona Chavez and her husband Ricky of San Rafael, NM., Triny Barajas and her husband Jimmy also of San Rafael, NM., Patsy Garcia and her husband Rodney of Bluewater Village, NM., Ray Garduno and his wife Sandra of Grants, NM., Michael Garduno and his wife Debra also of Grants, NM., and Gilbert Garduno and his wife Darlene of Denver, CO., along with numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Gilberto and Genevieve Garduno., One brother; Larry Garduno. One sister; Nolina Garduno. One great-niece; Richanda Jaramillo. And her brother-in-law; Bob MacKenzie.
On Saturday June 27, 2015 at St. Vivian Catholic Church, a Memorial Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, followed a Memorial Mass will then be celebrated at 11:00 am, by Father Michael Vigil. Inurnment will take place at Grants Memorial Park at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Tina Barajas, Donna Kie-Carney, Agnes Lucero, Elliott Garduno, Romie Jaramillo, Rodney Garcia, Samantha Garduno, Darlene Garduno, and Danielle Salazar.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
