Elsie Marquez Giron 86 of Farmington went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 25, 2013. She was born to Albert and Anita Gomez in Alamosa, Colorado. In her early adult years Elsie worked at Alamosa Hospital and then took a nursing position with San Juan Regional Hospital as well as the San Juan Manor. Elsie enjoyed her family, sewing, quilting, going to church and cooking which she loved so much that she won a cooking contest with New Mexico Gas Company. Elsie was a member of the Spanish Assembly of God Church and dedicated her life to children and women ministries. She served many years in the ministry with her husband in Colorado and New Mexico pastoring numerous churches in these states. Elsie was also gifted musically, playing by ear. She is preceded in death by her early husband Reverend Frank Marquez and her late husband Reverend Jose Giron and her daughter Marvine Marquez as well as mother and father and sisters Viola Oliveras , Erlinda Kenter, Lorraine Mascarenas and Ruth Zimmerle and one grandchild Nicole Marquez. Elsie is survived by her sons Phil, Reverend Steve, and Mark Marquez, daughter Rita Marquez, and sisters Irene Espanoza and Neoma. A visitation will be held in memory of Elsie October 29, 2013 at the New Life In Christ, 1108 N. Dustin from 6 O'Clock pm until 7 O'clock pm. Her services will be held October 30, 2013 at the New Life In Christ Church from 10 O'clock am until 11 O'clock am with Reverend Stephen Marquez officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Elsie's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington, New Mexico 87401
