Ellis S. "Greg" Gregory
March 27,1930- January 11, 2013
Ellis S. "Greg" Gregory, 82, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. He was born March 27, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Ellis worked as a printer in the newspaper business from Michigan to California, except for a short stint as a manager of a bowling alley in Steamboat Springs, Colorado back in the mid 1960's.
He retired from the Farmington Daily Times circulation department.
Ellis was a great bowler and at times carried an average of over 190. He was able to bowl left or right handed.
He and his wife , Jody loved camping. His passion in life was the Word and his church. He touched many people in his life with his knowledge of scripture.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was known as the "Amen Man" of the 8:30 a.m. service.
Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Jody Gregory; granddaughter, Christian Williams and two sons, Dennis and James Williams.
Ellis is survived by his identical twin brother, Omar Gregory and wife, Pat; son, Rusty Williams and wife, Kathy; daughter, Ginny Gomez and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Zach Williams, Rand Williams,Charity Woods, Matt Gomez and Jeanna Gomez; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service for Ellis' life will be at 5:00 p.M. on Thursday, January 24,2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 808 N. Monterey Avenue, in Farmington, with Pastor Dave Blackwell officiating.
A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
