Elizabeth Jane Giron

Betty Giron, 89, of Farmington NM, passed away September 24, 2021 in Farmington NM. Betty was born February 25, 1932 in Farmington, NM to Harry and Stella Head.

Betty graduated from Sanford High School in 1950. Soon after she met her husband Silas Giron. They were married for 69 years, Betty and Silas went on to have 6 children, 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, as well as 2 more great grandchildren on the way. Betty was a fantastic cook and worked in the food service industry for 67 years. At one point in time Betty also owned and ran her own restaurant "The Short Stop" for 9 years. She retired for the last time at 88 years old from A'viands/FMS Central Kitchen.

Betty is proceeded in death in by her parents, Harry and Stella Head; husband, Silas Giron; brothers, Donald Head and Ronald Head; sisters, Shirley Roberts and Patricia Klipsch; grandson, Stacy Christiansen; and great great grandson, Hayes Ortega.

Betty is survived by her 6 children, Diana Giron, Susie Nielson (Harlan), Becky Farmer, Barb Slovernick (Kurt), Silas Giron (Tanya), Peggy Giron; her siblings, Harry Head Jr., Joan Winters, Evelyn Ferguson, and Martha Head; as well as her numerous grandchildren, neices, nephews, and cousins. Betty was loved by all and left lasting impressions on everyone she met.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 4, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the LDS Church 400 W Apache Street, Farmington, NM. There will be a family visitation at 12:00 pm before the services. A luncheon will be held following after the services. October 5, 2021 at 10:00 am we will be traveling to Fox Creek Colorado for the graveside services.
