Edwin Hal (Ed) Tucker, 72, passed away Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014, at his home in Farmington, NM, surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Farmington to Omer and Winnie Tucker in 1942. Tucker Avenue is named for his family and skirts the Mile High Apple Farm, where he grew up. Ed graduated from Farmington High School, Trinity University in San Antonio, and the American University, Washington DC. After college and graduate school Ed spent 13 years as a much decorated Army officer, served in Vietnam, was an Airborne Ranger, a Military Police officer, worked at the Pentagon. He then moved back to Farmington to join the family business, San Juan County Abstract and Title Company. He is survived by his long-time wife of 47 years, Jan, daughter Stephanie, 3 granddaughters and one great granddaughter, son Greg and wife Stacie, 5 grandchildren. Also surviving is brother Gary and family of Ohio, sister Janet and family, of Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Omer and Winnie Tucker, and brother Ronald. A small celebration of life has taken place.
