Edward E. Vicenti, Sr., 77, of Aztec passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at his home. Ed was born October 4, 1937 in Dulce, NM the son of Henry Ladd and Maggie Q. Vicenti.
He was employed for the San Juan County roads department for 18 years until his retirement. Ed was a member of the New Mexico Grange #1 for many years. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1961 and was proud of his time of service as a veteran. Ed was an avid reader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and most importantly a friend to all he met. Ed was a diehard Raiders fan and loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
The Vicenti family would like to thank Basin Home Hospice for the care they provided him in his last days. Ed will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by son Gregory C. Lewis; daughter Brenda S. Lewis; parents Henry Ladd and Maggie Q. Vicenti; brothers Louis T. Vicenti and Emmett L. Vicenti. Sr.; sisters Irene Cavazone and Raenalda DeJesus; great-grandson Anthony Vigil, grandchildren Ivy J. Vicenti and Marcus T. Vicenti.
Ed leaves behind his wife Fern H. Vicenti; sons Louis Vicenti, Edward Vicenti, Jr., Douglas Lieb and Gilbert Lieb, Jr.; daughters Carolyn Lieb and Ivette Vicenti; brother Bilford Vicenti; sisters Isalene Juarez, Beverly Montez, Cecelia Ruiz, Burni Ladd, Janell Trujillo, and Alaina Vicenti and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dear friends.
A celebration of Ed's life is today, Thursday, February 5th at 12:00 Noon at Bible Baptist Church, 208 Newman Ave. in Aztec with Pastor Barry Quinn officiating. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St., in Farmington with full military honors being provided by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington.
Pallbearers are Bilford E. Vicenti, Louis E. Vicenti, Eugene "Bo" Cavazone, Gilbert Lieb, Jr., Douglas K. Lieb and Art Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers Josh Lieb, Travis Lieb, Gilbert Lieb III, Vincent Veneno, Jr., Jacobb Garcia, Matthew Lieb, Edward Sioux Vicenti and Samuel H. Montoya.
